The Sailor Pro Gear  ‘King of Pens’ (KOP) is introduced as the top of the range, developed as the symbol of Sailor’s technology, quality and writing perfection gained with the experience of over 100 years. Special attention has been given to the oversized 21K solid gold nib (the life and soul of the fountain pen), which provides top writing quality. The large sized Sailor fountain pen is handcrafted from high quality glossy black resin. The flat top cap features the Sailor anchor logo inset into the top finial.

The Sailor King of Pens (KOP) fountain pen uses an oversized 21k gold nib and has a proprietary cartridge/converter filling mechanism.

Sailor pens was established in 1911 in Japan, becoming the first to produce fountain pens in their home country. They have subsequently built a first-class reputation in the manufacture of the highest quality nibs, with all parts made in their own factory in Hiroshima. Their flagship collections are the classic 1911 and boldly designed Professional Gear, all available with a 14k or 21k gold nib. The Sailor name comes from founder Kyugoro Sakata's British sailor friend who introduced him to fountain pens.
