The nib is bouncy and now very smooth especially for an F. It did not arrive that way. Out of the box it was misaligned and writing scratchy on the right and up and right strokes. While I would have expected more of Pelikan’s QC, I was pleased and impressed by how Appelboom handled it. They sent an express label at no cost to me, had their nib specialist adjust the nib and got it back to me here in the US within a few days. The nib is good but the service was excellent.
Because this was a Pelikan nib I was already expecting a product of superior quality, and I was not disappointed. There is a great variety of line widths possible with this nib and it is now permanently in place on my pen. What truly impressed me is the speed of the shipping. I had expected to wait a long time because it was coming form overseas. Excellent product with excellent service!
This nib was excellently fashioned and fit precisely in all of the M1000 Pelikans I have; cleans easily and has the customary bouncyness and maximum wetness one can expect form a finely crafted product like this.
It is such a beautiful nib! I got B nib and it is such a dream to write with, a wet and juicy nib! I got this nib for enjoying inks.

After a few months of waiting, I finally received this EF nib. Replacing from a OM nib, this EF is not a fine a point as I was hoping for. A slight feedback but nonetheless a GOOD nib.
Well, what can I say... It is a Pelikan nib. Huge, bouncy and gorgeous.
I purchased this to be used as a daily writer as my broad nib is simply too wet for cheaper papers. Initially I was torn between the F and EF as I was concerned that the fine would still lay down a too thick line. However, my decision to go with the F was spot on. It is wet but lays down a nice finer line, comparable to a Pilot 823/743 or Aurora medium nib. Just a hair thinner but not nearly as thin as Japanese fine. Absolutely perfect as a daily writer on cheap copy paper. I love it!
Joost also checked the nib for correct tine alignment and this writes wonderfully smoothly with just a hint of that tactile feedback I so enjoy. To me, this is a near perfect nib for everyday use. (Near perfect as nothing in life can be 100% perfect) And did I mention that it is gorgeous?

The M1000 nib I purchased is a medium. I choose this size based on the knowledge that Pelikan nibs
are approximately one size wider than your normal German made nib. My impression of
the large #8 nib was its size and what a beautiful two tone nib. The nib has a pleasant spring to it when writing that allow for some line variation. It has excellent ink flow and writes smoothly on the Rhodia and Tomoe River paper I use. I am very pleased with my purchase from Appelboom which included a
Technician check that the nib was perfect.
This nib is very smooth and give a thick line. The nib quality is superb and love the big-color design. I also like yo thank Appelboom team for their quick turnaround on my order.
The M1000 is one of my favorite pens in the domain of size 8 nibs. I have the pen with F nib and I brought both B and EF this time from Appelboom. The B nib is smooth and that it is almost without any feedback. There is limited line variations and it is wet. It puts down a lot of ink however still dries within a reasonable amount of time. This is not the nib for Asian characters in general like Japanese or Chinese or those who writes small letters. The Pelikan M1000 B is more than a B and close to BB from Montblanc 149. The EF nib is just as well polished but there will be a slight feedback vs the B nib. It is also smooth and wet. The EF nib has line width close to the F nib but can produce more line variations. It is great for writing normal to small letters and Asian characters. I like the EF nib better than the original F nib on my M1000. All the M1000 nibs are springy vs M800 ones and they are a pleasure to write with.
