The Pelikan M800(5) have just the right size and a great selection of nibs and colors. I ordered a few including additional nibs after great consultancy by Joost.

This is my second Pelikan M805. The first one is a Blue Dunes edition that I also bought from Mr. Appelboom. The reason I bought a second M805 was because this is really pleasant pen to write with. I like the Stresemann design and I found it very elegant. As for performance, I had no problems. I did used Appelboom’s nib tuning services because Annabelle has done excellent jobs in the past and she doesn’t disappoint. Additionally, I always receive great customer service from Appelboom.
The M805 is my second Pelikan, the first one I bought was the Pelikan M1000 from Appelboom at a very good price. and it is a big pen, also; a wonderful pen to look at and of course to write with. The M1000 has a barrel that, while large, is very comfortable in the hand.. Very happy with the M1000. So when I viewed the M805 Stresemann I knew I wanted it, and I also knew that Appelboom was the only place I wanted to find the M805, and buy it. I like this pen very much, the barrel is just a wee bit smaller than the M1000, and sits in my hand as I write effortlessly across the page. You know this is all personal, you have to write with the pen, and then you'll know. The good thing about the Pelikan Souveran is the replacement nib size you can buy, I am waiting for the M805 replacement nibs due out soon, so I can buy a Broad nib, and maybe a Double Broad, I like to write BIG, it's fun for me. A great pen, and Appelboom's a very good place to buy your pen.
After a long (but worthwhile) wait I finally received my longed-for Stresemann.
Although I had expected the stripes to be more pronounced with higher contrast (used to my M805 blue stripes) it is a very classy pen.
The nib (as with my blue striped) is typical Pelikan, smooth but tad wider than most F-nibs.
Coming from Joost Appelboom the packaging was 100% spot on!
Having jumped into Pelikan pens with a 1005, this 805 is my second. While I remain deeply impressed by the 1005, the 805 simply fits better for many everyday writing tasks.
I have been thinking about purchasing the M805 for almost a year. I should not have waited. The EF nib is smooth as silk. It writes a drier than its larger cousin, the M1000 EF, but still a pretty wet writer. The feel is a nice balance of size and heft, hitting the sweet spot between the M600 and the M1000. A new favorite pen.
I love this pen. I have it in EF. It’s not as smooth as my M600, but I love the heft on the M800. Exceptional quality and this company is dynamite!!! The most beautiful packaging and the expedited shipping was splendid. Will be ordering again!! Thank you Appleboom.
