Incredibly beautiful pen. My first Pelikan, and what I've heard about their nibs is very true. One of my smoothest writers. Still figuring out my favorite inks for it.
I love silver trims combined with Stresemann barrel. M nib on M805 is lovely smooth writer. New compact box is nicer that old one. New sleeve design is more practical. It holds two pens without pens rubbing against each other thanks to compartment inside sleeve
I have been looking at the Black/Anthracite Stresemann for years. I finally pulled the trigger, and I am so glad I did. This is a beautiful pen, and with the fine nib, writes perfectly for me. I inked it up with Edelstein Tanzanite, and the pen just floats across the page, laying down such an exquisite line. The Pelikan M series is pricier, but they are worth it if, like me, you were a little hesitant. And this is the best price I have seen for a long time. Finally, a note to Appelboom- great job on the service. I live in Canada, but had the pen within a week. Thank you!!.
It's a Pelikan. They are absolutely beautiful instruments with wonderful nibs. I opted for a F nib this time around and for everyday writing it proves to be too wet for my personal preferences. Pelikan nibs are quite a bit broader than their Japanese counterparts or other western nibs for that matter. Outside of that it is an absolutely beautiful pen. I've never been disappointed and will add more to my collection.
The M800s of Pelikan are just rigth. The Stresemann, however, is probably the most classy one (disregarding the M815 metal stripes for a moment) and just an eye catcher. Writing experience is soft and supports fast writing very well. I am leaning to more wetter inks than Pelikan 4001, eg Waterman for an even better writing experience.
