Elders prees ik Diamine aan omwille van de intrinsieke kwaliteit, het aanbod van kleuren én de mogelijkheden om zelf kleur te maken.
De Shimmering versie voegt een speelsheid toe en kocht ik om uitzonderlijke woorden te laten vloeien, voor die ene uitzonderlijke persoon. Telkens die het handgeschreven boek opent is de ervaring weer anders. Dat maakt deze inkt bijzonder.
Cocoa shimmer has an outstanding performance and in my TWSBI Diamond 580 with F nib very well to handle. Don’t forget to shake and unfortunately RE-shake after a few seconds…. I do love it, the texts look amazing when you write with this eyecatcher ink
On thre botton of the bottle you see the shimmer particles, until you shake things up. After 20 seconds shaking, it takes just another 20 seconds to bring the shimmer particles back to bottom. I tried to fill it in a Kaweco but as I assumed before it was blocking the inkflow and a deep clean was necessary. With a glass or a steel nib in a holder, the inks work well, but the handling ... good for decorative lettering, less good for longer texts.
Firefly shimmer ink from Diamine, is gorgeous! In fountain pens or dip pen it writes so well. Love to draw with it. I prefer it in other nib sizes that EF but can handle EF nib as well, tried it in my twsbi eco ef and it wrote well, but in F size it was a dream. Still my fave using an dip pen like Kakimori steel nib- for drawing
I was looking for an ink that would be a good combination with the Benu Essence Mint Ice fountain pen and Rhodia paper.
My wife is very happy with this ink. She loves the silver glitter and mint is one of her favorite colors. The ink was used in combination with the aforementioned Benu pen with a fine nib.
The ink flows well and gives no problems in combination with the smaller nibsize. The ink with glitters goes well on the paper and the color is dark enough that it is easy to read. No feathering.
This is a beautiful ink that really would be perfect for writing a special card etc. For me it is a little too flash for day to day use but if you are not using it in a corporate setting you will be fine.
The ink behaves differently depending on the paper. For me when I used cheaper paper then shimmer colour became the primary ink colur and when using a good quality paper you get the ink forward with the shimmer in the background.
All in all I am very happy to have this in my collection and will probably add some more heading into the holiday season.

Perfect for Christmas, made my cards look beautiful. Didn't clog up the pen at all, however, I did use stub nibs. Both look also nice with finer nibs as well, but the shimmer reduces drastically.
Ink looks also beautiful in the bottle, almost like shimmering oil. It needs to be shaken at regular intervals, the shimmer particles settle down quickly.
