I live in the United States and was interested for many years to Purchase the Pelikan M1000. I stumbled upon a YouTube video of the history of Pelikan presented by Appelboom and and I was immediately sold. I contacted the people in Appelboom in question of nib size availability and I was promptly responded to. My purchase was done with ease and my package was received in 3 days, unbelievable! The pen is magnificent with a very soft “bouncy “ nib. The pen’s performance is dependable with no hard starts, juicy ink flow even with the fine nib I ordered. I’ve been using this pen for a week straight and I do not see myself rotating with my other pen for a good while. Thank you Appelboom for uniting me with my new pen.

The PELIKAN M1000 BLACK/GREEN is a wonderful and iconic pen... and it lives up to the highest expectations. I'm also glad I read the other Reviews here, because I really wanted to purchase it with an EXTRA FINE NIB. But I was uncertain. After reading the detailed Reviews I had the confidence to trust my instincts and I got the EF NIB... and also requested the TUNE & SMOOTH. It writes wonderfully. So much so I use it as a daily writer and have done so since I received it.

This is one magnificent pen. The nib is a monster, with the complimentary service of nib tuning the pen wrote great right out of the box. The nib is springy very smooth, just perfect. I own both M1005 and now M1000. Love them both. For everyday writing, EF nib is my preference. Got F on M1005, fun to write, great for signature and white-boarding on paper. The nib on 1000 series is bouncy and provides great feedback, contrary to Montblack, which is stiff (different kind of nice).
The Pelikan Souverän M1000 Black/Green Fountain pen is a pleasure to behold and write with on a daily basis. The Broad nib lays down a very wet thick line, and is very smooth on paper. I am very happy to add this wonderful writing instrument to my growing collection and look forward to using it every day.
Excellent build quality and an exceptional writing instrument. The nib is flexible with nice feedback. So far I have tried Edelstein Onyx and Topaz inks and they both worked great. The nib is a little broader than usual, which is a good thing for me, love the generous ink flow. My nib is extra fine but it writes more like a Boch #6 Medium nib.
