Mooi semi-retro uniek design met excellente bouwkwaliteit, afwerking, balans en schrijfervaring.
De medium veder heeft een mooi uniek design, glijdt over het papier en levert de juiste hoeveelheid inkt, geen happering of hard-starts maar direct perfecte inkt afgave.
Het formaat van de Meisterstück 146 is perfect, ligt goed in de hand en zeer bruikbaar als EDC pen. Formaat praktischer dan de MB 149 en de kwaliteit van de schrijfervaring is uitstekend.
Had al veel eerder een Montblanc Meisterstûck 146 LeGrand moeten aanschaffen , maar dat weet je pas als je er mee geschreven hebt en de grandiooze kwaliteit zelf hebt mogen ervaren.
A first inspection of the pen showed me that this was not the pen I have ordered. The pen was equipped with M nib, and I ordered the pen with a F nib. The pen was wrongly marked. I dipped the nib in ink and started testwriting. This convinced me to keep the pen. The pen writes really smooth. It´s like the pen is just flowing over the paper. Very comfortable to use. It fits nice in my hand. Expensive, yes, but if You decide to buy this pen I´m quite sure you will not be disappointed. A strong recommendation.
The Montblanc LeGrand pens are dependable and fantastic to write with. Mine is a fine that lays a confident line from the moment the nib touches paper until I lift it up again.
I long battled the Montblanc brand premium for the price, but now knowing how they write I'd say they are as good as others costing 50% more. The material is not the most impressive, nor the design, but for an elegant a dependable tool you you can rely on any time, there is no question they give you the value you expect.
I truly enjoy writing with the pen and it is the definition of its design!

Simply put, this is the best fountain pen I own (except maybe a premium Namiki), and I do own quite a few. Extra-fine seems pretty fine, like a Japanese F would, writes buttery smooth with a nice feedback on paper. With pressure it has some variation, but generally it's a stiff nib. Fun fact: the resin is not actually opaque black. It's actually a translucent really really dark red, so if you hold it in a spotlight you can see that. Pretty cool. It looks black though 99% of the time. Appelboom's services are incredible. I got the pen virtually the next day after they shipped. I am a returning customer exactly because of their care for customer satisfaction and ultra-prompt response. The pens can be bought from 1000 other stores, same pens. But the services at Appelboom are one of a kind!!! Plus they have their own nib specialist and she is amazing!
I had to save up for this pen and then I had to wait for weeks for it to arrive (many fountain pens are currently out of stock), but it was worth every penny and worth the long wait.. I have been writing with this beauty daily for a few weeks now and it feels extremely comfortable in the hand. It is light weight and writes so smooth. I have the fine nib. If you prefer a Japanse fine, order an extra fine. The ink flow is just perfect. Wet, but not too wet. Some very subtle feedback can be felt as you glide over the paper.
I look forward to writing with this pen every day. It is not only my favorite writer (I own a couple of Pilot pens which I love. Compared to this pen, the most close is the Custom 823, but the Montblanc feels more comfortable in the hand while writing), I also use this pen for sketching.
I expect to enjoy this pen for the rest of my life!

The pen feels like amazing quality and the finish of it, the snow peak inspires an excitement to uncap and write.
The overall design is classic. An iconic brand, a black and gold understated finish, perfect for any scenario you may wish to take it.
I have other gold nibs but this is by far my favourite. It is smoother than most of my others, but has a distinct and very pleasant feedback which is brought out by faster writing.
The nib itself is beautiful even without considering that it is by far my favourite writer.
These nibs tend to write a little broader than most "Western" nibs. I bought a fine and found it to be fine-medium which I love.
You are paying for the brand on top of the quality, but even if you aren't just looking to add an iconic brand to your collection, you will not be disappointed if you choose a Meisterstück for your single pen collection; the quality is 5/5.
