I really wanted to see what the elastic modification did to the standard Jowo nib units, and unfortunately I don’t consider it an improvement. Because of the way the nibs are cut for the elastic version a large number of them, including mine, had very badly misaligned tines which made them very scratchy writers. In addition, the elastic version is not in any way flexible or bouncy, a standard steel Bock nib is still softer than these. In conclusion, I personally think you are better off seeking the services of a professional nibmeister on a standard nib unit rather than buying one of the factory “elastic” nibs.
Changed my regular nib on my AQUAPETRA against the flex nib.
The flex nib is smooth and swings little bit more while writing.
Linevariation is not that different from the original nib.
i like the ef elastic nib. it write smoothly with some variation. I like it better than my original steel fine nib which write a little thicker than this one.
I love Leonardo Pens but have never had an elastic nib.
I really love it and will swap it around whoever I use one of my later Leonardo pens.

I’ve tried most of the JoWo flex nib units and the leonardo branded ones seem to be much better than the others. Not sure if they specially tune them or what but I heartily recommend!
For such a fine nib it is surprisingly smooth and slightly springy, not as springy as Pilot Soft nib but it is still quite nice for sketching in my notebook.
The nib is beautifully finished and provides just a little extra with the elasticity.
It comes in a bin unit from JOWO and can therefore be used on various pens.
You can even take out the nib and feed from the collar and put it in another pen. But the price of the nib compared to what it does, is what makes it perfect. For this price to be able to upgrade your pen into a semi flex which actually keeps up well with ink flow and does not leak while writing smoothly is just a great combination.
