The Otto Hutt Design 06 has a very attractive, ergonomic shape and, for me, just about the right weight. The broad nib is one of the best I have used. It glides across the page and has exactly the level of wetness I like.

The pistachio colour will probably divide opinion. Some people seem to love it, while others really do not. The metal grip section may also not suit everyone, particularly if you prefer something with a little more texture.

All in all, though, I am very pleased with this pen.

The pen feels nicely shaped to the hand and the brass body gives it some satisfying weight. The pistachio lacquering quality is excellent, but perhaps the hue is a little bluer than I was expecting. The combination of the colour with gold trim conveys a Near / Middle East flavour.

I got this pen with a gold nib and it’s very good. The balance between smoothness and feedback is well judged with a little line variation possible. But I’m not sure that the steel nib is that far behind, although it’s a bit stiffer.

Overall, a pen that I look forward to using every time.
