The Lamy 2000 is one of those pens that feels right the moment you pick it up. The machining is exceptional—every seam is so precise that the pen feels almost sculpted from a single piece. What stands out most is how completely the piston filler disappears into the design; there’s no visual fuss, just a clean, uninterrupted form that feels both elegant and deeply functional. Paired with its smooth nib and superb balance, it’s a pen that makes everyday writing feel quietly special.
The Lamy 2000 is quickly becoming one of my favourite everyday carry pens. Since getting the Lamy 2000 with a double broad nib has been joy to write with. The only thing I don’t like about the Lamy 2000 is the nib seems to have a sweet spot on it. Other then that the Lamy 2000 is a great fountain pen overall.

The Lamy 2000 is a true icon in the pen world. It is a workhorse of a pen. It is always reliable, a smooth writer and has a large ink capacity that easily copes with long writing sessions.
I love the feel and balance of the pen. I like its minimalist looks and quick and easy access and closure. The engineering also impresses me. It posts really well and its weight is ideal. The fact that the piston dial is almost invisible when closed is a testament to Lamys precision work.
It is a joy to use and a treasure in my collection. I t was also delivered with care and attention to detail by Appelboom as always.
Living in Germany, I bought this pen once from Lamy store directly only to send it back again due to an unsatisfatory nib (ordered an EF).
I previously purchased a Pilot Custom 74 from Appelboom and had a good experience with them. So, this time ordered the Lamy 2000 from them with a request to check the nib once before shipping.
I am very happy with the quality of the pen and their service. I'd definitely purchase again through them if I consider buying a pen in the future.
I love my new Lamy 2000. It’s such a smooth writer. It’s a joy to write with. I normally go for bright colourful pens but i find it’s sleek design appealing. I highly recommend this pen.
I was in search of a workhorse pen with good ink capacity and a comfortable writing experience for extended sessions. I couldn’t be happier with the Lamy 2000 in an EF nib. The ink capacity is excellent, it’s super lightweight, posts beautifully, and the build quality is immaculate!
It’s an incredibly consistent writer and has much more personality than I expected from the nib once I got used to the writing experience. There’s a bit of a sweet spot on the EF nib, but it didn’t take long to figure out, and now I absolutely love writing with this pen.

For my 60-th birthday i was allowed to buy my grail fountain pen.... saving up for a long time i was able to buy it on fountain pen day. Now i have to wait until my birthday in december before i can write with it. Time goes slow. Appelboom was great as always. Thank you.

I got the 2000 as a gift for a friend. I know he appreciates nice things but didn't know if he used a fountain pen. Turned out, now he does. The Lamy 2000 is an uncomplicated, yet refined workhorse pen that looks good and gets every job done. It conveys writing elegance without distracting with ornaments or flashy design. A pen for penlovers and pen-newbies alike! I myself have two and the black one with an EF-nib is the pen I use the most!
