Ik schrijf met een Pelikan M805 met een F nib, waarin mijn handschrift goed tot zijn recht komt. Maar na een poosje keurig schrijven wil ik weleens uit de band springen en gewoon schrijven om het schrijven. De M805 BB nib is daarvoor bijzonder geschikt. Hij volgt elke beweging, elke lus en haal en zoeft over het papier zonder ook maar even te haperen. Kortom Fantastisch. Na al die pret de BB eruit en de F er weer in en we kunnen weer keurig verder schrijven.

I bought a Pelikan M805 gold white Fine nib recently. It's really a great nib. I had a M size nib on my fountain pen, I liked it but found it just a little bit to thick for my handwriting. The fine nib is the best for me; it's a smooth nib (it's Pelikan !) but the nib has also some feedback which makes a whole difference. I like it. An Appelboom service was, as usual, great.

Pelikan nibs offer an economical way to extend the expressiveness of your investment in a fountain pen. Nibs can be exchanged easily and securely among the Pelikan 800/805 series of fountain pens. I had long enjoyed using my Pelikan 800 series pens with fine and medium nibs, but wanted to explore the more fluid and expansive writing possibilities of a broad nib. There is a difference in the freedom of thought experienced with a broader nib. I find it supports more lyrical writing as compared to the precise and analytical experience of a fine nib. M805 nib - Double broad!!!

I've ordered M805 in BB size and, finally, received it after period of waiting, due to pandemia! The overall design and performance is traditional for Pelikan nibs, in addition I made my own minor adjustments to make it more wetter to achieve quite bold line for perfectly effortless writing. Sometimes baby-bottom issue occurs but I hope it would disappear in time...

The Pelikan M805 M nib is a smooth writer with good ink flow but isn't too wet. The Pelikan nibs tend to run wider than marked but I can say this medium nib did not disappoint. Its thicker than other branded M nibs but not too thick. I use a fine nib as my daily writer but can now enjoy this medium nib when I feel like a need a change. I did the research and Appelboom provided the best value for money. And their service is impeccable.

Good nibs which need some time to soften

The Pelikan F M805 nib I bought as addition to an M805 B. While the Pelikan M800 series fountain pens are very pleasant in the hand, I find the nibs rather hard to write. The F nib (neither the B) show any springiness and require the writer to maintain a rather stable angle (pitch and yaw) between pen and paper. After several weeks of usage, however, this seems to improve - not sure if this is because I adapt to, or the nibs are adapting to me - and by now I enjoy writing with the M805 F and B.
The M2/400 nibs in comparison appear out of the box smoother and more forgiving with positioning than their larger cousins.

Thanks to Appelboom for being a source for Pelikan nibs at a reasonable price.
