I bought the M400 nib in fine as it is compatible with any of M200/205s and M400/405s series.
I was very fortunate to find Appelboom for being a source for Pelikan nib parts at a very reasonable price. Although the site indicated its availability in 12-14 business days, Appelboom sent my nib the very day I ordered and it arrived within a few days.
The nib itself was outstanding out of the box. Good alignment, buttery smooth with no scratches in any direction, and wet enough to show the shading and shimmering properties of my inks.
I am very happy with this nib and with the courteous and efficient service from Appelbaum. I have no hesitation recommending both the nib and Appelbaum to other buyers..
Appelboom hat mir diese schöne Feder sehr speditiv gesandt, obschon ich eigentlich mit einer langen Lieferzeit rechnete. Die M-Feder ersetzt eine alte Goldfeder eines Souverän 400 aus dem Jahr 1982 - alles perfekt - Pelikanfedern schreiben immer, selbst günstige Schulfedern! Wunderbar weiches Gefühl beim Schreiben!
I first ordered a F nib, the shipping was fast and the package was nice. Back to the nib itself, the writing feeling is gorgeous. It is so smooth and has a proper feedback. But the line this nib created is around 1.0mm which is so wide for me. So I contacted Mr. Joost and replaced a EF nib. Today I got my new EF nib, the wide is approx. 0.7mm which is OK for me, and the writing feeling is still fine. Overall, I like this EF nib. And the service of Appelboom is great. I will definitely come back when I need more fountain pens.
I bought this nib to replace the metal nib of my pelikan iconic blue fountain pen. It greatly increases the writing experience. Writes smooth and I especially like the dual color.
I bought this M nib and It shipped very fast. Even though I live in South Korea, it only took three days to delivered. And the package was so cute which was wrapped by a blue stripe paper and a golden sticker attached. I use this M nib with my M200 demonstrator pen and It looks fabulous! Feels like ice skating on the paper. Don't regret buying it!!
I remember I got a Pelikan M600 long ago, nice red color, superb nib smooth as butter... From that moment, as my hobby on fountain pens has progressed, I have been buying pens with gold and palladium nibs. From time to time, I have seen reviews of nice inexpensive pens as the Opus 88 Koloro that I am acquiring from Mr. Appelboom. Nevertheless, its metal nib would not do it, for me at least. So, I found that the price and quality of the pelikan m400 nib is superb as many pelikan products. Hence, the nib #5 at the Koloro is going out, and it will be replaced by this excellent nib.... which I bought extra fine for daily writing on legal documents (Ah! they need to get nicer paper....)
I purchased the M400 F pen nib and received it within a few days, when it arrived I screwed it into my pen and found it to be very scratchy. I was afraid I'd be stuck with a bad pen nib. I e-mailed Joost Appelboom, and he assured me they would replace or repair the nib for free within a week. I shipped the nib back and within a week it came back to me repaired and smooth as can be.
Great pen nib, albeit a bit wide for a fine. I find that the M400 F nib writes as wide as the M200 M nib. It has a bit less flex but is smoother overal. A great every day writing nib for sure!

Bought my M400 with a M nib, i prefer thinner lines so I'm now using this EF very smooth nib. I like this size for daily writing.because I find it is similar to my M200 F steel nib, but smoother. Thanks Appelboom Pennen for your excellent service
