Montegrappa 007 Goldfinger Issue Open Edition Rollerball

Following last year’s extraordinarily popular Montegrappa 007 Spymaster Duo and 007 Special Issue, Montegrappa's newest James Bond chapter uses simplicity and stunning optics to hit the sweet spot between accessibility and collectability. The keenly awaited Montegrappa 007 Goldfinger Special Edition is ready to fly out.

Like the James Bond franchise itself, the Montegrappa 007 Goldfinger Special Edition keeps to a winning formula by returning to the standards of 007 Special Edition, then enhancing them in limited edition with exclusive references to Goldfinger—the 1964 movie many consider to be Bond’s best.

Materials, finishing and presentation on the Montegrappa 007 Goldfinger Special Edition stick to the script of 007 Special Edition, reprising its aluminium, brass and steel metalwork, this time retouched end to end with a blunt golden sheen. A limited release of 707 fountain pens and rollerballs reflects the edition’s gold-plated status and the momentum of Goldfinger’s 60th anniversary—celebrated this year by cinephiles and Bond fans alike. Edition numbering is engraved into the rear of the cap’s open-edged base.

As before, the silhouette’s all-aluminium body is oxidised, sandblasted and textured with a knurled, pistol-grip finish on the barrel. Trim is realised in brass, ion-plated and sandblasted, and includes a clip with fluting inspired by Bond’s Walther PPK revolver.

Overt branding details are provided by a debossed 007 logo on the upper barrel and inside the hollow-point cap top: the rifled steel insert that invokes the trademark gun-barrel animation that opens every James Bond movie. Accessories again include a notebook and leatherette zip folio, enhanced with debossing and gold foil-block 007 and Goldfinger logos. The Montegrappa 007 Goldfinger Special Edition is supplied in a custom, hot-stamped box. A QR code links to an online owner’s manual and edition booklet.

Italy’s first pen producer, Montegrappa, began manufacturing pens in 1912 in its factory in Bassano del Grappa in Italy. Utilizing natural celluloid and precious metals,Montegrappa combines traditional methods such as die-casting with more recent innovations as low-relief engraving to form their precious art objects.
