Esterbrook Model J Blackberry Ebonite GT Fountain pen

Esterbrook has two new colorways available for the Model J. Violet and Blackberry. It will be the latest addition to the Ebonite line of pens, making for two vibrant shades that are at once contemporary and totally classic.

Tthe Esterbrook Model J is a timeless masterpiece that gracefully blends vintage charm with modern ingenuity. Crafted with exquisite ebonite from Germany, this pen showcases a seamless fusion of tradition and innovation. Its iconic design, inspired by the beloved 1950's vintage ‘J’ model, pays homage to Esterbrook's rich heritage.

The Ebonite Production. Each pen starts its life as natural caoutchouc, harvested from the caoutchouc tree in a delicate process that ensures the tree's health and longevity. The caoutchouc is then washed, rolled into plates, and dried, becoming the highest grade of natural rubber. The magic unfolds as this rubber is mixed with sulfur and linseed oil to form a hardrubber compound. Then he undergoes vulcanization, transforming into durable, shiny, hard ebonite. This material is then shaped into rods and profiles, the basic structure from which the pens are meticulously crafted.

The Esterbrook Model J is equipped with a Jowo size 6 gold plated nib, which promises an exceptional writing performance. Delight in the subtle yet distinctive barrel engraving, adorned with the R. Esterbrook signature logo, while the grip section ensures extended writing comfort.

The pen is available with a broad range of nibs and uses a cartridge/converter filling system.
