I have a M815 plus M400, M600, each with broad point. Each broad point behaves slightly differently from the others. The M805 in broad is no exception. The M815 has a glassy smooth writing experience, the M805 has a sweet spot. I tried to write with Diamine Shimmer Ink Golden Sands that I wanted to use with this pen. Alas the nib showed hard starts and ink starvation even after flushing and re flushing. Then I filled a safe wet ink...Parker Quink Black and it writes well, though not as smooth as M815. I don’t mind fountain pens that behave whimsically, that is why we love fountain pens and not ball points! 4.5 stars for this pen and Joost’s customer service adds another .5 making it a five star experience.
I bought this pen from another retailer, but it’s gorgeous. The only thing that bothers my OCD brain is there’s one stripe that’s significantly narrower than the others, but it’s beautiful otherwise. The broad nib lays down a nice line, but it was a bit over polished. Again, that was not Appelboom’s doing. I’d still buy this pen again.
Let me begin by saying that the process from ordering to receipt of the pen was amazing.
I purchased the Pelikan M805 (EF) online and received it within the week. In my order, I asked for the pen to be checked to ensure that the nib wrote well, and the Appelboom in-house nib specialist was able to take a look and make some minor tweaks to ensure that the nib was perfect. This was confirmed when I inked the pen for the first time; it is absolutely flawless.

I bought this beautiful M805 Stresemann as my first Pelikan fountain pen. Build quality is excellent, with great eye for detail. I ordered a F nib and had it customized and smoothened, and it glides effortlessly on the paper. I am really happy with this pen!
This is a beautiful pen that is classy, and somewhat understated in its appearance. The grey stripes reflect a bit of variation in shading as you rotate it. The medium nib is very smooth and glides across the paper which contributes to a great writing experience. The pen feels good in the hand both posted and unposted. My pen worked great right out of the box and upon its initial inking. The pen came nicely gift wrapped as if it were a present to myself.
I must add that Appelboom was very responsive to all my emails. I love that in a company. They shipped my pen FedEx and it got to the West Coast, US super fast. I would definite but another Pelikan pen and from Appelboom again. What a great buying and writing experience.
I received my M805 the other day from Appelboom. I ordered the fine point as my handwriting is less than perfect.
The pen arrived very quickly and very nicely packaged with some treats from Appelboom. To say that the service from Appelboom is wonderful would be an understatement!
The pen itself is magnificent and truly a fine point nib. It writes very smoothly and cleanly. I will be using it happily for many years to come. The styling of the pen is classic and it is beautiful. I love Pelikan pens!!

This is an exceptionally well designed pen both visually and structurally.
The broad nib I ordered writes smoothly, flawlessly and, being Pelikan, is somewhat stubby, which adds to the character..
Mr. Appelboom's customer service is exemplary so the ordering was easy and the shipping was fast.
I am a repeat customer of Appelboom. This is a lovely pen that writes smoothly with a fine nib. I would also note that I was pleasantly surprised when the pen wrote immediately even after I was away for two weeks on vacation. I have wondered what an extra fine would be like and may buy an extra nib to have the option to change the nib. Joost was very helpful and responsive.
This is an elegant looking pen that feels good in the hand. It posts well, but is a bit back-heavy when posted, at least for my taste. It is very nicely balanced when not posted. The original Medium nib was disappointing. It was consistently hard-starting, and skipped randomly and repeatedly. I tried two different inks, but the problem persisted. I told Appelboom about the issues. Mr. Appelboom responded quickly, and sent a replacement nib, which arrived (in the States) within a few days. The replacement Medium is splendid. It is smooth and appropriately wet, and writing with it is quite enjoyable. Sincere thanks to Appelboom for prompt and effective service from beginning to end.
