Design & Inspiration

The design of the Fortune Dragon draws inspiration from the architecture of the famous Temple of Heaven in Beijing. Its distinctive proportions give the pen a monumental yet elegant presence.

The cap and barrel are crafted from red and black marbled ebonite. The warm, organic character of the material creates a beautiful contrast with the precious-metal decoration.

The most striking feature is the highly detailed Chinese dragon overlay. The dragon is crafted in vermeil over sterling silver, with a layer of gold applied over the silver. Its eyes are set with rubies, adding an exceptional touch of colour and luxury.

Chinese Symbolism & Decoration

The ebonite body features traditional Chinese symbols, including the character representing happiness and good fortune. Several of the engraved details are highlighted with gold leaf, creating a beautiful contrast against the red and black ebonite.

The pen is supplied with its original box. Due to its age, however, the box is in very poor condition and has deteriorated considerably. It is included solely for transport and protection of the pen and should not be considered presentable as a display box.
