Premium Material – WPC Maple Wood
At the heart of this exceptional pen is WPC (Wood Plastic Combination) — a high-tech fusion where maple wood is carefully infused with plastic particles. This process preserves the authentic texture and grain of natural wood while significantly enhancing its durability, stability, and resistance to wear, making it ideal for a writing instrument designed to last.
- Natural Finish: Showcases the subtle beauty of unadorned maple wood, exuding warmth and understated luxury.
- Indigo Finish: A deep, mysterious hue beloved in traditional crafts, perfectly balanced between black and blue for timeless sophistication.
- Vermilion Finish: A muted reddish-orange inspired by the elegance of classical musical instruments like violins and guitars.
Sophisticated Finish & Texture
Using an advanced coloring technique and frosted finish, Sailor has achieved uniform color depth and a luxurious surface feel that enhances the tactile and visual appeal of WPC—no easy feat. Each pen is a one-of-a-kind experience in touch, tone, and elegance.
Enhanced Grip & Writing Balance
Engineered for comfort, the metal gripping section is designed to shift the center of gravity lower, delivering perfect balance and a smooth writing feel. The pen requires minimal pressure to write effortlessly, allowing your thoughts to flow as freely as the ink across the page.
The Sailor 1911L (large) fountain pen uses a 21k gold nib and has a cartridge/converter filling mechanism.
Sailor pens was established in 1911 in Japan, becoming the first to produce fountain pens in their home country. They have subsequently built a first-class reputation in the manufacture of the highest quality nibs, with all parts made in their own factory in Hiroshima. Their flagship collections are the classic 1911 and boldly designed Professional Gear, all available with a 14k or 21k gold nib. The Sailor name comes from founder Kyugoro Sakata's British sailor friend who introduced him to fountain pens.
