Opus 88 with a converter ink filling mechanism

The Opus 88 Mother of Pearl fountain pen in the Stripes body pattern is really beautiful and substantial (ie heavy) in my hands. Unlike other Opus 88 pens, it uses a converter or ink cartridges instead of the syringe filling system. There are two other similar models and I've bought them all and have enjoyed writing with them. The Bock stainless steel nibs are excellent and reliable.

For an ebonite pen with smoothly polished abalone, this price is amazing.
The pen weights about 28g uncapped and 44g capped.
Medium nib writes wet lines with adequate amount of width about 1mm while matt ebonite section provides comfortable grip.
Only thing that makes worry is that abalone on barrels are not coated but as the stripe pattern was so nice, I am inclined to buying another design later on.

This is the first Opus 88 fountain pen I've owned and I'm really impressed with it. The abalone and pearl colours on the barrel and cap look great, The walls are nice and thick so it weighs enough to feel substantial but not so heavy as to be uncomfortable to write with. I went for a 1.5 stub nib and it's a pleasure to write with.
It looks and feels like a really premium pen and for me it's great value for money.
