My previous experience with an Estie, purchased from an American site, was not positive. The nib was scratchy, which shocked me, since everyone praised the smoothness of Estie nibs. I chose to try again, but through Appelboom, because he offers nib tuning before sending the pen. Well--now I understand what everyone is talking about! This nib is buttery smooth with great flow. The black with silver trim is very elegant. An A+ experience.

I recently purchased the Esterbrook Estie Ebony CT Fountain pen with the journaler medium stub nib by gena and I couldn't be happier with my purchase. The pen is absolutely stunning with its sleek ebony design and the journaler medium stub nib writes beautifully. I love the added control and character that the stub nib gives to my handwriting. I also appreciate the attention to detail in the craftsmanship of the pen. It is a joy to use and I highly recommend it to other fountain pen enthusiasts.

Mooie, zwarte pen, klassieke uitstraling. Pen/nib schrijft vloeiend! Geschikt voor dagelijks gebruik en om lange brieven mee te schrijven en/of te journalen. Ben er zeer tevreden over!

I decided to upgrade the Estie with the Journaler nib and waited the delivery of the pen with anticipation. I had read reviews online praising the pairing but wanted to experience it for myself. I have now been using it daily for 2 months and I love both the Estie and the Journaler!

The pen fits my hand nicely. The diameter of the section is perfect (the threads are very smooth and I am not aware of them when writing), as is the length of the pen - I use it unposted.

The nib is extremely smooth despite its cursive-italic DNA. You get lovely line variation without digging into the paper - I would recommend this nib if you are considering going down the rabbit-hole of stubs, cursive-italics, italics, etc.
