It may not be the perfect pen but it comes close. Firstly beautiful to look at. It’s a good size , fits comfortably in my hand. I wish I’d paid the extra to get it tuned. It’s a good writer but it could write a bit smoother. No regrets, I’d buy it again.
Purchased this just before christmas in a medium nib, asked for the nib to be smoothed and checked as part of order. Was notified instantly that the pen was out of stock unfortunately but would be ordered and should be available within a couple of weeks.
Was happy to wait and it build the expectation up, when it arrived it had been smoothed, wrote perfectly wet and was just how I like it, I am very happy with both the nib work and the pen, its one of my faves now and although I have more expensive pens, this one is a permanent inked up pen now with kon-peki ink, matches so well.
Beautiful looking pen, an absolute pleasure to write with. Came out of the box with a perfectly smooth soft nib. Could not wish for a better pen at this price.
This is my best fountain pen, so far. It is just beautiful. In real life it looks much, much way better than on any picture on the internet on movie in youtube. Cameras just cannot catch the shining and beauty of it.
Writing experience is nice. Pen is not too heavy, is smooth with some feedback on good quality paper. The vary types of additional nibs make that pen very useful.
This is my fourth Leonardo and one of my favourite pens overall. The Momento Zero has become a household name for all fountain pen aficionados, and with good reason. Beautiful acrylics, traditional Italian design, reliable Jowo nibs (the new Leonardo nibs look fantastic!), and the proud heritage of the Matrone family all make this writing instrument a modern classic along the Visconti Homo Sapiens and others. Appelboom has done a fantastic job as usual and I strongly recommend them as well!
Thank you Appelboom for the tune and smooth service. The fine size steel nib writes consistently at a 45 degree angle, with some feedback. The pen has a nice finish but the cap can unscrew if not closed tightly. Overall, very good value for the price.
This my first Leonardo Momento Zero with a fine point steel nib, and I am very impressed with the pen’s in-hand feel, finish, and how smooth the nib writes. I chose the Hawaii Blue with gold trim, and the gold trim really brought out the warm hues in the pattern beautifully. Anabelle did a great job in tuning the nib—it writes very smooth with just the right amount of feedback. The nib is on the wet side, with no skipping or hard starts. The cap is threaded and takes 1-1/8 rotations to take the cap on or off. The cap screws firmly on the barrel, and stays in place. The one thing I noticed, is that occasionally when removing the cap to write, the nib section can become lose. I recommend the Leonardo Momento Zero to anyone who wants a high quality fountain pen, at a great price.
Pen arrived quickly with great customer service. I'm really happy with the pen and the extra stub nib I purchased. Great colour variation and depth in the acrylic and the section is very comfortable. Would definitely recommend and looking to buy another Leonardo soon!
This pen looks fantastic with incredibly beautiful acrylic. The gold trim is not gaudy and enhances the appearance. I like the blind cap that allows access to the converter and allows refilling without removing the barrel.
I purchased the EF elastic nib. It has a bit of feedback, but no scratchiness at all! The elasticity allows for a bit of line variation which is pleasant.
This Leonardo pen feels very well balanced in my hand whether posted or not.
