I swapped the steel nib that was supplied with a black 'Liliput' and inserted a PVD nib in its place. I found the 'Liliput' writing experience improved with the PVD nib - considerably smoother than with the stock nib. The black nib enhances the look of the pen too. Whether the improvement in the pen's performance and the look of the posher nib are worth the premium price asked is up to you to decide. A couple of points to bear in mind for prospective buyers are that the quality control on Kaweco's nibs is not as rigorous as it might be, there seems to be some variation between each iteration, at least in my experience of the standard Kaweco nibs, and secondly, please be aware that the PVD nibs are not suitable for every make of Kaweco fountain pen. Check compatability before purchasing. Overall: I'm happy to recommend the PVD nib.
