Deep Sea Green...

Again a very nice ink by Graf von Faber Castell. Wonderfully fluid, the colour is quite different: a green that really reminds of the deep sea. In a visually very nice ink bottle.

New ink favourites!
- Review Add on: 24-04-2026

I have started buying the inks from Graf von Faber-Castell lately. They behave nicely, are a pleasure to write with, and are also very well made reegrding permanence. Many of the inks loose some color if the paper is soaked in water, but there are rests on the paper so that you still can read what is written there.
The Carbon Black is a deep, beautiful black, that flows nicely in all my pens. Deep Sea Green and Cobalt blue, nice colors as well. The price may at first glance seem a bit high, but the beautiful bottles contain a whole 75ml of ink, which makes the price very competing with other premium ink brands.
Highly recommended.

GvF-C Midnight Blue
- Review Add on: 05-09-2025
- Average Rating: (5)
This Midnight Blue flows very well in my Magnum fountain pen. It leaves a very dark blue line while retaining the blue colour when dried. Dried it has a matt finish. It also dries reasonably fast (I have had no smudging in my normal writing).
Most surprisingly was how friendly it is to paper. I use it on Moleskine 70gsm, plain paper. This paper usually see bleed-through when using anything but black ink. However, this, with a generous flow, does not.
Excellent properties! Lovely bottle with sturdiness and heft.

GvF-C Cobalt Blue
- Review Add on: 03-09-2025
- Average Rating: (5)
Beautiful bottle with a sizeable opening for all my pens. The colour is just as it is named, cobalt blue. The flow is great, it is friendly to paper (Moleskine plain 70gsm) with not bleed through. I have to say my fine nib L2K wrote as good as or better than ever :)
Anyways, I can highly recommend the ink for anyone looking for a good blue with excellent properties in water and light resistance that is friendly to the paper.
Appelboom service and delivery was as usual delightful :)

I have bought Moss Green, which is a really nice foresty green. I have been looking for a perfect green ink for some time, and after trying many inks, this is the one I have been looking for. And the bottle is really nice, perfect to put it on working desk in office.

Deep Sea Green
- Review Add on: 05-02-2023

The ink is brilliant. Not too wet, not too dry. The bottle looks amazing too. Nothing to say apart from recommending the purchase!

Balanced black ink
- Review Add on: 09-05-2022

The carbon black variant I have always used is a very deep black, and is a good balance of wet and dry. It does not bleed through on cheaper papers like for example Mont Blanc permanent black does. It is slightly wetter, however, than Lamy black.

This Olive Green ink is very good in its behaviour. No bleedthrough, makes the nib seem nice and smooth. A little expensive but a good amount of ink, beautiful colour and even a beautiful bottle.
