Pelikan sells a lot of pens at all price points. Despite this, the Pelikan feels and performs like it was made in the small workshop of a master penmaker who pays careful attention to every detail. It's simply gorgeous to the eye, and it feels so very good in the hand.
The nib is truly special. I chose a medium and opted for Appelboom's "Tune & Smooth" service. It feels like nothing else I've tried. Glassy smooth, with excellent feel of the paper. Writing on the reverse side is just as smooth, resulting in a fine point size line. It is like having two amazing pens in one!
If it were a car, the Pelikan M800 (M805) would be a Mercedes S-class: Just get onto the Autobahn, park the speedometer needle on 200+ kph and enjoy the quiet, smooth ride until you arrive at your destination.
I've tried to buy m800 Soooo hard. It was very difficult to get it in my country because every m800 was sold out. l've get to know there were many Pelicans in Appelboom and they deliver overeseas. There were a lot of fountains which I wanted.!!!!! I ordered M800 with customization. I had guessed it might take some time. BUT!!! It took only 5 days to be delivered . Package was perfect and I felt like I got a present. M800 is just Great!
This is a gorgeous pen, the green and black blend perfectly fine, such that even if it wasn't a classic it would look like one. The nib size is well balanced with the dimensions of the pen. Although it is a light pen, it fits comfortably in my hand. The filling system works smoothly and it stores a reasonable amount of ink.
I bought it with a fine nib because I read some reviews stating that Pelikan's fine writes as a medium compared to some other european manufacturers. There were no surprises, it seems to me a medium tending to broad, even a little broader that other medium nibs that I have.
The pen writes very smoothly, I haven't tried the flexibility of the gold nib as is something I usually don't do when writing. In my opinion is on the side of the wet nibs, but nothing too serious.
Overall, I'm very happy with this pen and also with Appelboom's service. This is my second purchase with them and so far, so very good. Excellent service.
Pelikan Souveran Stressemann M800 fountain pen is a true legend in every sense. The aesthetics, design and feel of this writing instrument is timeless and unbeatable. It is not only relevant to this day but the most desirable pen in the times to come... A must have for fountain pen enthusiasts.
For me it has become a daily horse pen. It has made me go back in time when pen n paper was the only lifeline and now I'm cherishing every moment of that joy.... Good days are back, thanks to my Pelikan M800 Souveran for redefining the meaning of sovereignty in my life.

I could write a lot about all the good things of my new fountain pen, such as quality feeling, smooth writing (which has been even smoother after two weeks writing), easy ink filling, easy cleaning, easy nib exchange and so on.
But my main point is that this is a fun pen! These two weeks I have been writing constantly (mostly nonsense), drawing, and just enjoying putting a lot of ink on paper. I must confess I don't find it easy to put the pen away...
