Review Title: Surprising quality for a low price

I own a lot of urushi pens, expensive urushi pens. This one doesn't match their quality or feel, but it really shouldn't for the price. What this instead does, which is great: it is its own thing. Genuinely, I was surprised the second I unboxed it, the pen is light, well-built, but the lacquer work is so nice and even for this price range. The colour pops out well in the sunlight and what's different compared to urushi is the fact the pen feels more sticky, it grips on the hand much more. While Vietnamese lacquer won't replace my urushi collection, I am glad to have this one, and I will keep reaching for it often.
