This fantastic pen is another stroke of design inspiration by Montblanc. It has a good heft to it and picking it up reminds me of what it was like to change a tire on a family car. When I was 10 years old and living with my family on a dirt road in Blantyre, Malawi, my Dad taught me how to use a jack and change a tire on a car. This pen brings back memories of that life lesson. The rubber on the barrel is pleasing to touch and the intricate design reminds one of the great variety of tire treads on a fine automobile. In homage to my two Montblanc Enzo Ferrari pens, I inked it up with MB’s divine deep purple Enzo Ferrari ink. What a great match!

I am so lucky to have this fountain pen which is a great companion to my Enzo Ferrari red fountain pen. I wished I could have ordered the B nib but it was not available but I am still very happy. It is a very unique looking pen with a gorgeous looking mother of pearl MB logo on the top of the cap. The body of the pen is covered by a very nice rubber that imitates the Pirelli tires which feels nice while holding it. The size is like a 149 but on the heavier side, I don't think it would be comfortable or ideal to write with it for a long time at once the nib is smaller like a 146 pen. I did ink it with the MB "The Legend of Zodiac The Snake Red" ink which made the writhing very elegant in the color combination. The red ink compliments the red rings on the all black body fountain pen. Very smooth and comfortable writing instrument, After all it is a MONTBLANC...

After a few days of use, this pen is now one of my favorites. It's on the heavier side when compared with a 149, which gives it a great heft and balance when writing. It is comfortable to hold and while it does not post, this allows enjoyment of the pearl star at the peak of the cap. It is very close in size to a 149 with a 146 sized nib. Ordered with an OB nib, which turned out to be a lovely compliment to it's weight. Impressed by overall quality and finish.
