Marvelous

I love the extra weight of this pen. The nib seemed slightly dry at first, but it quickly broke in and now gives a great fine line for my small writing. The finish is beautiful and is slowly beginning to patina. In a leather slip case it rides very nicely in my trouser pocket and has enough size to ride upright without getting lost in the bottom of my pocket. The added capability of shortening the pen by removing the extension promises even more adaptability.

Kaweco's artistry with metals is present in this pen's exquisite machining. Screwing and unscrewing the shafts creates different pens. The large nib provides great flow and control. The weight -- in any of the different combinations -- lets you wield the pen like a wand. Unlike other brass pens, this one has a cool soft glow. It is a very cool pen.

A thick Liliput! Removing the middle section of the pen gives a result that is slightly smaller than the Kaweco Fireblue but thicker in diameter so easier to write with if you have medium to large hands. Nice and heavy due to the brass and the lid screws on capped or posted. Leaving the mid section in gives a decently heavy pen that does not need posting and it writes well. Not so easy to lose or forget due to its weight. Nice engineering and smooth finish.
