This is my second Lamy imporium, the first one was titanium. The black color is so much nicer! The color really fits the pen, including the dual color nib. The pen writes very smooth and the weight is not a problem for me, even when writing for long periods. I don’t give 5 stars because the cap’s threads have issues in securing with the threads of the pen. Not a deal breaker for me, but not perfect score for this reason.

Have the collection of Safari , Scala , Dialogue's, Studios, but the most premium feeling that thisbpen gives you is unparalleled. Material , finish, feel is excellent. Must buy.

If you take the entry level Safari fountain pen, and upgrade everything about it, you might end up with the Lamy Imporium. It’s gold nib is the same design as the steel one on the Safari but is smoother with a little feedback characteristic of gold nibs. The body is solid metal and has a nice weight to it that speaks of quality and craftsmanship. It’s an outstanding pen and comes in black and platinum. I own one of each. As always, I would get this pen, and all other pens (except Montblanc since they no longer carry them) from Appelboom. There is no store that comes close.

The Lamy Imporium Black Fountain pen is just the right size pen if you're looking for a medium sized pen. The pen is light and is very comfortable to hold and and can be used for long writing sessions without any difficulty.
