I own a Pelikan Souveran M800 black/ green fountain pen. I have been waiting for a red / black version in M800 and ordered it as soon as it was available. There was some wait as Appleboom had to order it( I’m not surprised as it is such a lovely piece that I expect it sell as soon as it comes) I was very well informed by Appleboom, something that I have always appreciated.
The pen is an absolute delight to hold. It is the right size for me( I have medium size hands) and is immediately noticed whenever I carry it in my shirt pocket. The nib is a dream ! Thanks to Appleboom. This has become one of my most used pens this week and I’m sure it will stay this way for a foreseeable future.
My friend visited Netherlands from India and was looking for a good fountain pen shop. I recommend Appleboom and he was like a little boy in a toy shop!

I received the Pelikan M800 Red/Black , EF nib, fountain pen from Appelboom a number of weeks ago. So, I have had time to get to know this pen and write with it. It wrote great write right out of the box , perhaps thanks in part to the nib "tune & smooth" option I had requested when I placed my order. I am currently using Kobe Nagata #23 ink in this pen. Overall, I find this pen to be distinctive & classy. I placed my order when I read that Pelikan was bringing back the red/black version of their Souverän 800 series fountain pens.. As to be expected,, there was several weeks wait before Appelboom was able to acquire this pen for me from the manufacturer.....likely this version of the pen was in demand. Appelboom kept me informed on the status of my order and I would not hesitate to purchase from them again.......

The Souveran M800 Black/Red fountain pen is a wonder to behold. The red and black stripes with the gold trim are extraordinary. The Appelboom-tuned fine nib writes like a dream. Definitely a top 10 pen in my estimation.

Talking about ‘grail pens’…

The moment I had accepted that — for this color combination — I would have to turn to the M600… Pelikan decided to put this gorgeous black/red M800 (back) in production. So I immediately pre-ordered one with a fine nib (which is more like a medium nib; I find the Pelikan Souveräns to be broad, even for European standards). To sum it up: it writes like a dream. I did choose the ‘tune & smooth’-option. A great service Appelboom provides. All in all, when it comes to service, Appelboom always stands out. I highly recommend this pen.

I have a small collection of Pelikan's with all the standard colors in the M1000 and M800 series, except for the M800 Black/Red. I looked for the Black/Red M800 with no success, so I bought an M600 Black/Red, So, when I received the email from Appelboom that Pelikan was coming back out with the M800 in Black/Red I jumped and pre-ordered. The pen is beautiful. The red stripes running down the slightly translucent barrel with the black cap, the colors set give it a classic look. I dipped the pen, a "M" nib, and it glided on the paper, but that's not unusual for Pelikan. I really like the size and weight of the M800 series, I keep a Black/Blue M805 inked all the time. With the color scheme it's a really nice looking pen, something you could carry in your shirt and use everyday.

Nice to see this back in the line up. Wonderful pen and the size I prefer. Would be nice to see this in an 805 version with the chrome trim.
