Review Title: Outstanding

I bought this pen from Appelboom a few weeks ago. Excellent communication clarifying questions before the purchase; dispatched within the expected time frame; arrived in impeccable condition. I don't know how i can add info about the pen thst is not repetitive , but here the question of reliance is the key point as this pen is an outstanding writer - absurdly smooth, on the wetter side, gorgeous to look at. It's large but anyone comfortable with a MB 149 won't have a problem with the Urushi. Mine is the vermillion one with the MF nib.

This is an exquisite pen! It is beautiful, with its handmade Urushi finish in red, classical design and gorgeous nib. It's a big pen that looks luxury and classy, but the best part is that it delivers in writing experience. It's a delight to write with its nib, smooth and bouncy. It's also reliable: it never skips or fails to write. If it starts to skip, just refill it: you're out of ink!

The only possible drawback is its relatively small ink capacity, but even that can be a plus, if you like changing inks often.

It feels good in the hand despite its size. This is the best pen in my collection and worth every cent invested in it. If you're looking for a premium pen, this is it.

Review Title: Pilot Custom Urushi

Up here in Alaska we rely on tools. Why? Because tools matter. I live by my pens. Each has a niche in which only that pen excels. Pilot makes some of the best pens in the world. Currently the Pilot Custom Urushi and it’s #30 nib rank so high that only my Namiki Emperor’s #50 nib beats it. But Namiki is Pilot’s artisan line. When it comes to the Pilot Urushi it could easily carry the Namiki name. The clip on the Urushi is exactly the same as the clip on my Namiki Emperor and my Pilot Urushi fits comfortably in my Namiki Emperor pen case. It it a full step larger than my Montblanc 149. The cartridge filler makes cleaning a breeze. It holds plenty of ink. This pen is a must have for my collection and I can’t speak highly enough of the little brother Pilot’s Custom 845 Urushi. They are a formidable pair and just the right tools for long winter nights on the pages. Thanks Appelboom — you make a big difference with your service and care all the way there.
