It's a great pen at an excellent price. Unfortunately, Appelboom did not have this pen in Extra Fine, but they offered to send in a Fine nib. I agreed. I received great service from Appelboom, fast shipping, and quick responses from the Appelboom team when I had questions. I especially liked the “tune and smooth” process that Appelboom provides. My pens arrived in perfect condition and wrote smoothly out of the box. I would highly recommend Appelboom for all your fountain pen needs.

A joy to write with

I bought this pen because I visited Auvers-sur-Oise where van Gogh painted his "Wheatfield with Crows" only a few days before he died, and though it was not his final painting, this became my "memento mori" pen. I just love to write with the B nib, and this is the best-balanced fountain pen I own. The first Visconti pen I own, but probably not the last.

Very nice finish. Faceted barrel is quite pleasant from an esthetic point of view. The pen is by no means large. Grip section is good - on the small side of the scale. The nib in fine (large format nib selected) was tuned before shipment from Appelboom and was perfect right out of the box. A very generous amount of ink is delivered with the fine nib as selected. Magnetic closure system is great. Happy with this pen

Beautiful and smooth, effortless writer

I recently purchased Van Gough's "Wheatfield Crows" Fountain Pen Set with medium nib. Website pictures does the pen justice. I inked it with matching ink and oh boy I can say I enjoy writing with this pen, smooth with effortless writing. I want to look into other Visconti pens. I like the magnetic cap and able to take standard international cartridges.

A very Special pen

The design of the pen immediatly struck me as beautiful. The nib is an amazing gold looking nib with a nice Van Gogh branding.
It writes smoothly with little to no feedback, at times the Inkflow gets interrupted hence the 4 star rating and not 5.

After using it daily for a month I can gladly say that it is a great purchase!
