If you want a springy nib, this isn't it. It's very firm, but in my experience it lays down a nice, dark line, and it has never had a hard start nor ever skipped. I got a fine. It definitely provides a little "road feel." Fun to write with..
I bought a Carène stub having never written with one before. My everyday handwriting is italic, so I hoped the nib would provide enough thick/thin line variation. Inked with Waterman Intense Black, it exceeds my hopes in that respect. After less than 24 hours inked, it does skip very occasionally, but that may improve as it "breaks in." Like most modern Waterman nibs, it is really nail-stiff. (Not a problem for me.) All in all, I am happy with it.
A very wet nib for fine nib. Writes more like a Medium nib.
