This is my first case, and in general first product from Visconti brand. I had a "hard case" for 3 pens from a different brand in the past, but after a 6 month of daily use this case started to fall apart so I started my search for something different and I found this one. In the beginning I was skeptical about the part of this case, where you have to "bend" it to open it, but so far, after approx. a month of a daily use, I do not see any problems with it. On the contrary I have to say, that the case, the manufacturing and general feel is really great and I am happy, that I bought this product.
This is my second case of this size. I have already written a review for the sixfold case, so I will just repeat it here.
These cases are simply the best for my pens. Here are the reasons: they are semi-hard with internal ridges (i.e. well-protected), they have no holding rubber-ish bands that leave marks and scratches on your expensive pens, they are slightly padded for more pleasant holding in your hands, and finally they are made from a beautiful Italian real leather. These are not always available, so grab them when you can. Appelboom offers much more competitive prices than any US-based stores that don't usually have them in stock anyway. One more thing, the previous models of this had a metal logo on the case, but I feel the new models with embossed logo offer a more organic look.
I was looking for a triple pen holder not too bulky or expensive (prefer to spend the money on pens and ink) and the Visconti matches all in BUT with the quality of fat more expensive pen holders at a fraction of the price.
Very nice product, lined inside, pens are sitting separately without touching, easy to carry on , nice leather.
This is a great everyday pen case for work. Takes 3 fountain pens, including the biggest models such as my collection of MB 149s and Pelikaan M1000s. Highly recommended.
Long time I looked for a pen case for three pens and finally found this Visconti case. It is ideal to carry three big pens. Quality is great and the zipper closure makes the case fully closed and secure. Three individual slots inside guarantees that the pens do not touch each other.
