The M700 is beautiful to both view and hold. It has a perfect weight and feel and the fine tip flows effortlessly. I am seriously contemplating the M900 in the future.
This pen is something else. First off, the pictures really don't do it justice. It looks so much more gorgeous in real life. The engraved section is simply beautiful.
But even more than looks, it's simply a superb pen. Good capacity and a very helpful ink window, Perfect medium weight due to the metal parts. Relatively small and slender pen which I like (basically M400 size). Superb 18k nib. I got the EF. Really like the touch of it and variation I can get out of it. Very smooth. Relatively stiff with a little bit of flex. Good wet writer. Never had it run dry or have trouble starting.
Another small thing I like is that since I tend to hold pens farther back, I'm basically holding it at the engraved part rather than the section. And that part gives really good grip.
The Pelikan M700 is a work of art. The details engraved into the barrel reflect light in a way that pictures do not do justice. Being made of solid silver and gold, the pen itself has a nice heft, but the smaller 400 size makes for a pen that isn’t overbearing. As functional as it is beautiful, the M700 Toledo deserves a high place in the collection of any fountain pen enthusiast and is a must have for fans of the Pelikan brand.
