Mijn liefde voor pennen kreeg ik van mijn grootvader. Ik erfde een Sheaffer maar had nooit durven dromen dat ik zijn Pelikan’s uit 1956 aan de praat zou krijgen. Wel dus. Waarop de M800, 600 en 400 de collectie vervoegden. Uitmuntende instrumenten, stuk voor stuk.
Tussendoor ontdekte ik Appelboom: ik stelde een technische vraag en had een uur later een perfect antwoord. De passie voor pennen bleek uit alles. Alleen al daarom wou ik deze exclusieve pen. Dat wordt het exemplaar waarmee de liefde wordt bezongen.

I am a fan/collector of Pelikan M20x pens. It’s easy to go down the rabbit hole with special editions, classics, marbled offerings. The great thing is that no matter the color combination I can count on any Pelikan to be reliable and a great writer. The M200/205 pens are a great small and light well balanced pen. They are a super way to get started in trying out Pelikan. This offering is as classy as they come. The pen is, as other’s have said, more striking in person than the photos show. The classic piston mechanism is smooth, large capacity, and easy to clean and maintain. Tip: the nib unit unscrews and with a blunt tipped ink syringe can be cleaned more quickly and easily than a converter pen. The other added bonus of the nib unit is it they can be swapped (if you have a number of M200s or M400s). The steel broad nib is smooth and a bit springy. Great pen!

This is another color variation of Pelikan's popular 200 series line (smaller but quality pen line). Pelikan releases new colors at least annually, and this is the first half 2025 pen in red. This pen looks better in person than on the website, features a typical Pelikan nib and writes well for a lighter weight pen (I like heavier pens).

Twee jaar hiervoor kocht ik een M200 Copper Rose Gold, mijn eerste ervaring met de M200. Heerlijk formaat, handig met de piston, en schrijft heel prettig. Het verzamelen (maar wel om te gebruiken!) kruipt er langzaam in, deze M200 Marbled Red zag er ook weer heel fraai uit... en dat het een fijn formaat en een fijne pen is wist ik al. De keuze was snel gemaakt, de bestelling geplaatst, de pen snel en zoals altijd als een cadeautje verpakt geleverd.

Ja, dit is ook weer een prachtige pen om te zien en een heerlijke handzame pen om mee te schrijven. Heerlijk compact om mee te nemen ook. Ik wil zelf eigenlijk altijd zo fijn mogelijk, dus ik heb de EF nib. Dit gaat weer veel schrijfplezier opleveren!

After some more unusual colours in recent years this 2025 M200 special edition looks like as if it could have been around for decades, really classic. And in this case that’s a good thing. The red material is spectacular, with red shades between a light burgundy to almost black. The way the light plays with it reminds me a bit of celluloid.
Otherwise you get a typical Pelikan M200: very light, small - the perfect pocket pen for people who don’t like pocket pens. The nib (fine) is smooth and consistent, it “sings” when writing on paper like Rhodia. My ink recommendation is Diamine Writers Blood.
