I got this pen after a short waiting period as the pen was out of stock. I also wanted the Appelboom tuning and smoothening service.
And I'm really glad that I chose to buy here. The nib is VERY smooth, just as requested, and the pen is also quite "wet", also as requested.
But, Appelboom was very helpful towards my questions with a nice sense of humor. I really like that.
The pen was also packed in gift wrapping. Made me feel like a gift for myself. Its really good service. I will come back here next time I wish to have a new Fountain Pen.

Mijn eerste Leonardo aankoop. Wat een heerlijke pen. Ik heb hem besteld met een architect nib en daar heb ik absoluut geen spijt van. Hij schrijft super mooi.

Absolutely stunning pen, I just love the design, it looks like it is encased in strips of mother of pearl and has washed up on the beach, The photos do not do it justice.,
I bought the steel nib in medium, and it is a lovely wet nib to write with, which is my preference, and wrote well straight out of the box. The size is very comfortable,and I have small to medium size hands. It’s my first Leonardo and I will definitely be back for more.

Heb reeds 2 Leonardo's in bezit. Dacht: mooi zo.
Doch bij zien en lezen over de Sand, deze toch
maar besteld. Geen spijt!
Service Appelboom weer subliem.

I bought this fountain pen few months ago. I was testing it for sometime now and I can say that this pen is a dream. It writes so smooth and juicy. I got this in Broad nib so I am ok with all shimmer inks as well. This is another amazing purchase from Appelboom. Thank you for all you outstanding customer support :-)

This Sand MZG 2.0 is wonderful to look at. The ink window and slightly opaque body make for a mysterious visual effect, where you can just see enough. The stub nib I chose is fantastic to write with. Nice package of functional art here!

The MZG 2.0 Slate is a bit more muted in its color scheme than the other pens in the series but still it is a beautiful pen. I now own the complete set that Appelboom offers for this line of pens and have them inked up according to the color palette of the pen body. It is a large pen but very comfortable in my hands for long writing sessions. The piston ink-filling mechanism is flawless and the ink window is a very useful. I bought it with the #6 stainless steel broad nib and it writes perfectly out of the box. Highly recommended.
