Delta DV Original Over-size "K" — Fountain Pen Review

A bold, beautifully crafted instrument that commands attention and earns its place in any serious collection. The build quality is excellent, and this is unmistakably a pen designed for everyday use rather than the display cabinet.
The Fine nib is a JoWo #8, and it writes noticeably broader than its grade implies — comparable to a Montblanc Medium. Feedback is pronounced and characterful; not a smooth glider, but rewarding in its own right. The 14k gold nib combined with a converter keeps the price sensibly grounded.
The converter's limited ink capacity is the only real compromise worth noting.
On the purchasing side: a seven-week wait, inadequate communication, and a nib-substitution that ultimately served no purpose left a mark on what has otherwise been an impeccable relationship with the retailer. A first blemish — and, one hopes, the last.

Short(ish) and stout

I enjoy the thick barrel and section. The pen is just a little bit shorter than a Pelikan M1000 for example but being much thicker makes it look much shorter in proportion. Also makes the #8 nib almost look small. My broad nib feels and sounds surprisingly rough. Not scratchy, just quite a bit of feedback. The pen is still one of my favorites because it writes very reliably and is so comfortably large.

Disappointed expectations...kind of

I longed for this pen for some time now, after reading a lot of reviews. Being fond of oversized pens I was not expecting to much since it is rather short compared to the likes of Namiki Emporer, OMAS 360 or a Platinum Izumo.
When I recieved the package and unwrapped it catched me immediatly. Yes, it is rather short, in compariosn. But the feeling in the hand is extremly good. It is just fun to use, especially with the right ink from KWZ. Writing with this is similar to enjoying a soft caramel candy. Ok, hope you get it. And not at least because of the Appelboom tune & smooth service! Never ceases to surprise me. I did not expect this to be so much enjoyment. As said: disappointed expectations.

Large and Wonderful Pen

This is a very large (think girth) pen. The #8 size nib is very smooth, even for a fine point. The yellow resin is beautiful with some chatoyance/depth. This is grail pen for sure!
