Regular users of Lamy pens will find nothing surprising here in the nib - it is the standard affair, reliable if unspectacular.
The pen is much nicer than a Safari or Al Star, though.
It has a classy look to it, and the slightly rubberized grip deals with the problem many people have with typical Studio shiny section.
This pen won't let you down and makes a good office pen - one that you will use freely without worrying too much about dropping it or losing it - although I would to not to do either!
Lamy Studio Lx All Black Fountain Pen…I was going over my pens the other day, as you do and I couldn’t believe I didn’t have this particular pen in my collection. I checked that my husband hadn’t gotten into them. He knows that’s a fate worse than death…It’s a stealthy pen. Needless to say I rectified the situation immediately. So very glad I did because not only are they becoming harder to get…the Studio is also my favourite workhorse. Now another first world problem I need another Galen Leather case for them. Big Thank You goes out to Joost & The Team…they do an excellent job communicating with us, meeting our postal needs etc.

I love this pen. The quality for the price is hard to beat. Great grip on section and very comfortable to use. Steel nib writes very well. So well, that I do not miss the gold nib. Super EDC pen.
Lamy studio vulpennen zijn sowieso goed, maar de Lamy black lost ook al het enigste probleem op van de lamy studio bij lang schrijven. Handvat blijft goed in de hand liggen ondanks evt vochtige vingers.
Daarnaast heeft het totaal zwarte uiterlijk iets moois.
Zeer aan te raden als dagelijkse vulpen.
Have about 100 fountain pens and this pen is one of the best. For an extra fine nib this is remarkably smooth and doesn’t skip or scratch. And arrived in NY within 2 days!
The pen has a premium feel and looks very sleek. Balance is great whether posted or not. The medium nib is smooth but does not offer any line variation. I like the texture of the pen and I prefer this pen over my Safari.. This is definitely going to be one of my workhorse pens. Only downside is the pen doesn't come with a cartridge converter, not a problem since I had a Lamy Z28 cartridge converter available. If you like to change ink colors often I encourage the use of the cartridge converters and it is overall better for the environment.
