Great EDC pen

I was looking for a pen to carry with me everywhere and chose the Kaweco Steel Sport because it seemed to be built like a tank (and it is.) I'm very impressed with the machining precision and the overall feeling of quality.

It really is quite heavy, but I find it well-balanced and don't have any issues when taking quite a lot of notes. I never used it for long writing sessions though. I have big hands and when posted, the size is just right. The weight might be an issue for people with smaller hands.

I take notes in a traveler's notebook, so I settled on an EF nib. It writes a tiny bit wider than what I expected (but then the only other EF nib I have is a Platinum Preppy and it writes really thin.) I use it together with a converter and Pilot Iroshizuku ink, the flow is great and the nib glides on the paper.

The only issue I have is that I want to get the brass version as well now.

I knew the Kaweco Sport from before, the standard model, but I felt the need for a very solid one, which could be with me always, so I went for the steel model. And I am really pleased with it. I like very much the weight of it in my hand. The build quality is excellent, and it seems solid enough to last for a lifetime and more. I like it so much that I also consider the brass model.

A Solid Pen

As a mechanical engineer who enjoys writing with small, heavy pens, I believe a better match to my tastes cannot exist.
The Steel Sport from Kaweco feels exactly as I hoped, and the quality is impressive when considering this pen's price.
Hopefully, no technician will accidentally put it in the lathe.

If you like both kaweco raw aluminium and steel as well then go for raw aluminium one because
1.Raw al is more shiny and interesting relatively.
2.it’s price is lower and it’s weight is less.

Rest assured the built quality is amazing.

Mooie en zeer degelijke pen. De pen is mooi compact maar ligt ondanks dat die klein is wel lekker in de hand (heb middel grote hand). De medium punt geeft een dikkere lijn tov een parker "M" punt maar heb er gelijk een "Fine" punt bij besteld die ik binnenkort ga proberen.

I got this pen for my best friend who graduated with a phd in mechanical engineering. A steel pen with such an awesome/unusual design is perfect for a mech engineer. He is someone who never uses ink pens - now its the only one he uses. I got the medium nib which was perfect for him. The flow is super smooth the pen is perfectly tuned. It writes right out of the box. I also included a piston converter and a silver clip. Appleboom was efficient in there delivery - i got it in the usa with a week all for five dollars. The pen is super robust and i swear nothing will happen to it even if you throw it against a wall. Kaweco are know for there quality and this is a perfect pen from them.
