Buttery Smooth

A joy to write with. The nib is smooth as silk without being overpolished -- no skips or hard starts from this juicy wet writer. The pen is very comfortable in my small hands despite its weight and solidity. The medium nib seems more like a broad to me, and lays down a lot of ink. Two thumbs up!

Great pen

I appreciate particularly the pen design: it’s elegant without being too minimalistic. Its weight can be appreciated since it’s all brass but it’s well within the boundaries of accessibility. We, europeans tend to appreciate some weight in our pens since it transmits a feeling of good quality. And good quality it is for this pen. It’s a wet, smooth writer and Appelboom service was excellent and swift.

reunited after 40 years

My love for fountain pens started with this little marvel. My grandfather gave it to me when I went to college, making his unfulfilled dream a reality: a scholar in the family.

This pen was exactly what I needed. It is small and slick. It has this stubborn design translated in the unique nib and it writes smooth as butter (as my old course notes show, after all these years).

Unfortunately the pen was stolen, so imagine my delight when I found out Joost Appelboom understands the value of this item. It is an affordable but very important tokens of taste and wishfulness that adds to the wonderful universe of fountain pens. If only Mr. Appelboom knew how he made my day, once again.
