The Vulcanica is a beautiful writing instrument. The faceted design of the pen and deep black colorway make it exceptional. As beautiful as, if not more so. than a MB 146/149. I now have a good sized collection of Leonardo pens and this is the most beautiful of my collection. The #8 nib is a joy to write with.

Appelboom continues to supply excellent customer service and I will continue to utilize to them for my future pen needs.

I got the Leonardo Vulcanica with the #8 medium nib. The disign is beautiful, deep black resin very elegant, the facets give this pen a unique feeling. The #8 gold nib fits this pen nicely I think the smaller nib might make the pen look unbalaced due to its large size, its a true medium sized line very smooth and pleasant writer. The piston mechanism is smooth works great with no issues pen holds more than a significant amount of ink for daily use. My only issue with this pen is the ebonite feed. It is great for keeping the ink flow consistent, but it gets really wet and does leak sometimes into the cap, especially if you keep the pen in your pocket and is moving about, otherwise this would be a perfect pen. All in all i really enjoyed using it and as usual the service and customer care from Appelboon is exceptional.
