A bespoke pen like no other

This is a large, heavy pen, substantive in every way. The metalwork is simply superb, and the design is unlike any other pen I have. Solid silver cap and body. The broad nib writes perfectly: smooth and generous ink flow. The only negative is how the cap fits with the body of the pen. It takes quite a bit of force to cap and uncap the pen and repeated use leaves tiny micro-scratches on the grip section of the body. Although repeated use has made closing and opening the pen a bit easier, it is still and two-handed job to do so. The micro-scratches can be removed with some abrasive silver polish but for a pen at this price range, I had hoped that it would have a flawless capping mechanism, like a Diplomat Aero. Nevertheless, this is a unique pen and one that I have really enjoyed writing with.

Worth the price. Unique experience. Feel, look, function: all extraordinary. One must surrender to a different writing technique than that used with a lighter-weight pen. When in the presence of a special creation, one adapts to that creation. If flexibility in that department is not to your taste,, look elsewhere.

A fabulous pen which looks and feels like a real statement piece

I was so pleased when I received the email to say Appelboom is now selling Yard O Led pens that I ordered one immediately, at a better price than can be found here in the UK. Delivery was quite remarkably fast: even though it had to be ordered in by Appelboom from Yard O Led, I received the pen 4 days after placing the order. During that time the pen travelled from here in the UK to the Netherlands, then back to me in the UK!

This is a large and fairly heavy pen but it's very well balanced when used unposted and the B nib fitted to mine was a smooth, perfect writer straight out of the box. It's beautiful to look at too, with the hand engraving on the cap and barrel plus all the hallmarks that show where and when the pen was made.

I bought this pen to use and have done so regularly during the past few weeks. I love it and can only recommend it highly to anyone thinking about buying one.
