Herbin Bouquet d'Antan

This is a beautiful pale shade of pink, matching my Sailor Pink Sakura quite well. The glass bottle has a cute little nook for you to place your dip pen/fountain pen but do bear in mind this bottle is quite short so filling a piston fountain pen isn't always the easiest.

Good Black ink with a tinge of grey. Good for everyday use and well behaved.

J. Herbin Perle Noire

Well behaved deep black ink. It dries fast on fountain pen friendly paper and the color is very dark. The ink is not too wet with good flow.
The bottle is a bit shallow if you use pens with piston/converter filling systems.

Herbin Perle des Encre Ink - Azur Blue

  • Review Add on: 28-08-2020

This is the lightest blue ink I use. Contrary to some, I find that it is readable if you write slowly and with a European fine or broader nib. It is a very unique blue, without going towards turquoise. Flow properties are excellent. It takes a moment to saturate and darken.

J Herbin Bleu Pervenche

  • Review Add on: 25-08-2020
  • Average Rating: (5)

I rather enjoy Herbin inks and after checking my ink stockpile, I have by far more Herbin inks than any other manufacturer.
The Bleu Pervenche is a turquoise/teal coloured ink but leaning to the bluer side of the spectrum. A little darker than for instance the Visconti Turquoise with good flow and librication. Not as wet as the Visconti but close. I get fairly decent shading even from a Japanese fine nib with excellent flow.
All on all a lovely ink with very decent properties

Good ink for fountain pens

Rouille D'Ancre is a beautiful warm pink colour.
Diabolo Menthe is pale but clear, though a little harder to read if only used in a fine nib. Needs a white page.
Bleu Calanque is a really clear and strong blue-turquoise.
Vert Empire is a beautiful deep winter green.
They all write incredibly well.

Inkt gekocht, omdat het 1 van de diep zwartste zou zijn. Is inderdaad echt zwart. Vloeit goed.

J. Herbin inks have amazingly vivid colors and great wetness in general. I have used Vert Reseda, Rouge Opera, and Lierre Sauvage, and all of them exceeded my expectations.
