A good demonstrator pen for a good price

I had a strawberry MP1 and wanted to buy the Mondrian edition as a gift. It's a solid demonstrator pen. The Lock-It feature might be annoying (it was a nightmare in my strawberry MP1, it took ages to break in), but in the Mondrian pen it was quite easy to unlock right out of the box. The Mondrian edition is really beautiful and makes it easy to find a matching ink colour. The nib is smooth and I haven't registered any problems with it so far. The price is not exorbitant, so if you're a fan of demonstrator pens, give MP1 a try.

Excellent value for money with a beautiful design

An excellent fountain pen with a truly distinctive design. The build quality and overall finish are impressive, especially considering the very competitive price. The Mondrian-inspired design gives the pen a unique character and makes it a great addition to any collection.
The writing experience is smooth and enjoyable, although in hindsight, I think choosing a Fine (F) nib would have been a better fit for my personal writing style.
Overall, I’m extremely pleased with the purchase — a beautiful, well-made fountain pen offering excellent value for money. Highly recommended!

Nach Wo. der Verzögerung,kam er endlich an.Die Enttäuschung war gross.Die beiden Federspitzen machten den Spagat.Schlechte Endkontrolle?Mit Gefühl habe ich die Spitzen wieder ins Lot gebracht.Dann aufgefüllt und erste Schreibversuche gemacht.Nachjustiert + gut ist.Von der Flexfeder habe ich mehr flex erwartet.Der Füller schreibt angenehm gut.Über die Grösse des Füllers darf ich nicht klagen,denn ich mag viel Tinte.Mit der Kappe hatte ich zuerst Probleme:Schraubt man sie auf den Füller bis zum ersten grösseren Widerstand,wackelt sie noch.Also muss man beherzt weiter drehen bis es nicht mehr geht.Die Kappe ist komplett aus Aluminium.Sonst ist der Füller durchsichtig bis auf den roten Nubsi am Ende.Damit wird Tinte nachgefüllt.Erklärung liegt bei.Es gibt O-Ringe.Einer hinter dem Gewinde,der andere zwischen Schaft +Nubsi.Der Eine dichtet zur Kappe hin,der andere hält die Kappe fest,wenn man sie über den Nubsi schiebt.Dann verliert der Füller die Balance und wird für Gulliver eine Option.

A limited edition with no number on it. I love fountain pens; I avoid their limited editions as "clever marketing". This time temptation won, and I am glad it did.

"The pen is mightier than the sword", wrote Edward Bulwer Lytton. Here the sword lives inside this pen, wielded with the light touch of creativity. The blade is ink; the edge is thought.

The cap carries Mondrian's 1921 Composition: red, blue and yellow in a black grid. Simple, until you look again. Then the balance shows. The clear barrel turns ink into a moving picture.

It writes as well as it looks. The number 6 JoWo nib lays a smooth, steady line from a 2 ml piston, and it has not left my side since. It should cost many multiples of its price. My advice to all and sundry: grab it, enjoy it, savour it.

My first purchase through Appelboom, and the words matched the height of the deeds: a handwritten note, service with a smile. Follow the road I travelled.

Pleasure to write with, and quite surprising quality given its price range

I did not know the brand and i am not an expert on fountain pens (i just write with them); I bought the pen because of the link to Mondrian. Got the pen, and I have been using it ever since. The ink flows magnificently and the nib is precise and confortable; having tried it, most likely I would buy the fine NIB instead of the medium. In a sentence: its a pleasure to write with, and quite surprising quality given its price range. Recommended!
