Stunning 88 in magenta ebonite

This is a special pen, there’s all sorts of fine details worth mentioning. The Aurora 88 has beautiful proportions and balance. There’s not a render on the internet that does this ebonite justice, it’s far more subtle with a glossy depth.

Highlights - the piston mechanism superb and the ink window unusually functional. The “chrome” clip, it’s more of a satin finish and has a lot of depth, elegant.

The nib and writing experience, things remain elevated here. I went with the oblique broad nib and simply had it looked over by Appelboom. Beautiful line variation. It’s stiff and precise, smooth and controlled, I have a pen or two I’d describe as feeling softer and feeling more luxurious where it meets the paper, this is a better writer.

I love Aurora pens and this one is no exception. I particularly like this pen because of the amazing 18K (750) nib. Also, the 88 is a perfect size, in my opinion. I prefer not to post, and this pen works well either way. And the color is amazing - Ebonite is a wonderful material. And, important to note, the service I get from Joost at Appelboom is fantastic (and I’m in the US).
