Axis is no conventional pen: metal, with an unusual design and with an eye-catching colour option.

The pen is well made, nib is smooth and writes perfectly. It's suprisingly light and quite compact. The magnetic cap makes it ideal for quick notes. The section works as a good roll-stop. And it is not expensive.

Some people might not be satisfied with its ink capacity. The magnet is strong and it is easy to mix up the ends, so I often tried pulling the wrong end. The grooves and the width of the section are likely to bother some people.

The section is too thick for me and for longer writing. For comparsion, I have Kaweco Liliput. It is hardly as much practical as Axis, but it shows that it is possible to make a durable metal pen, yet with incredibly thin part walls. I believe that Axis could and should be made more refined, slimmer. Even one millimeter less in diameter would help, two might be even better.

Still, it is a great pen for the price, but probably not for everyone.

The Monteverde Axis Matte Orange Fountain Pen is an outstanding fountain pen that combines style, quality, and performance. The matte orange finish is extremely eye-catching and gives the pen a bold, modern look. It quickly became my favorite pen in my collection.

The writing experience is excellent. The medium nib is perfectly tuned for everyday use and feels very smooth on paper with consistent ink flow. Another great feature is the magnetic cap, which makes opening and closing the pen quick and effortless during regular writing.

What impressed me most is the value for money. I own another fountain pen that costs about 2.5 times more, yet this pen still surpasses it in overall writing comfort and practicality.

Overall, this pen offers amazing quality, smoothness, and design. I would highly recommend it—you can absolutely buy it with confidence.
