The Benu AstroGem Midas is gorgeous. I love the earthy colors and the bold, odd shape. Despite the funny shaped facets, it is very comfortable in my hand. The somewhat murky colors make it my very favorite fountain pen for autumn! Oh and the writing experience? The Schmidt nib writes well, like they always seem to do, smooth and wet.
Any complaints? Well, for a standard Schmidt nibbed fountain pen, the Benu pens are on the more expensive side I'd say. The cost must be in their designs, and one must be willing to pay for that.
Finally, Appelboom service has always been top notch - my go to store for fountain pens and ink for sure!

I love the new BENU ASTROGEM MIDAS. This is my first Benu and it’s a nice as I’d hoped it would be, after seeing it on the Appelbites show.
The shape design, colors, material, construction, nib, and attention to detail are all magnificent. The writing experience makes it feel like a luxury model, and just feels so nice to the touch. Even the converter filled up first try..
