Midori has an excellent reputation and for good reason. The paper is not coated and has a very pleasant texture to write on. I have not seen it feather, ghost or bleed. It does, however, show off shading inks well.

I find ink dries in decent time on this paper, but with wetter pens it isn't the fastest drying paper. Though that has rarely been a problem.

Whereas some papers make some nibs appear wider, this paper shows a more accurate line, which is excellent for Japanese pens with finer nibs.

To note, that paper is cream coloured. It still shows off a full range of colours very well, but is not pure white.

One of my favourite papers to write on, and the notebooks are very well put together. It may be worth buying a separate cover for it if you want to keep it pristine.

This fabulous Midori A5 lined notebook has a lot of virtues. I have written with many types of inks and fountain pens in this notebook and it works well with them all. There is no ink bleed through so I am able to fully use both sides of a sheet of notebook paper. The lay flat binding is a wonder in and of itself.. You can fold back the binding 360 degrees on itself in order to hold the notebook in you left hand while writing with your right hand. The Midori notebook is modest and cream colored in appearance. It doesn’t draw attention to itself. It lets the writer imbue it with meaning. I have used up two of these notebooks already and keep a small supply in reserve so that I don’t run out. This notebook is as important to me as my favorite fountain pen and ink.

This is a wonderful notebook for journaling. The paper is smooth and extremely friendly for fountain paper ink. The notebook is very minimalist and the paper color, slightly cream, is beautiful. My go to notebook.
