I had this pen in sight for a couple of months, I was really intrigued by it, but the hefty price tag held me back. Eventually, depleted by the futile resistance, I finally gave up and ordered one :). It is the most expensive pen I own, by a huge margin. so I was really affraid, what if I won't like it. Fortunatelly, this stone has fallen of my chest completely, when the pen arrived. As much as I liked it on the pictures, it doesn't represent in the slightest, how satisfying the pen looks and feels in person. It really is something special, and extremely pleasant writer on top of that. Yeah, it was very pricey and I still can't really believe I shelled out so much money FOR A PEN! But I'm certainly not disapointed with the purchase.
I had been looking for this pen for a couple months because I am a fan of the Aurora Optima series, and I really love this violet color.
I was not disappointed. It is a beautiful pen to look at. It feels great in the hand. And is a reliable, superb writer. An excellent choice.
The Aurora Optima Viola is a superb pen. Great looks, outstanding writer. Excellent experience purchasing from Appelboom, including a nib check prior to shipping by the in house nib specialist for no extra charge.
I bought the pen with a Goccia - CM nib. I wanted a different nib and since the Goccia is similar to an architect nib, it writes the Hebrew characters very nice.
The nib isn't smooth like writing on glass, it has a bit of feedback that I love (kind of similar to Sailor's nibs).
The pen is not a big pen, and I love big pens (I buy the oversize every time), but the pen is not too thin and if I post it, it feels more weighty in my hand (usually I don't post my pens).
It is a beautiful pen, Violet resin with red gold.
This is my first Aurora Optima and I love it! Aesthetically, the fountain pen is perfect: the purple color is deep and quite dark, and becomes bright in the sun. Breathtaking beauty! In addition, the association with rose gold is magical. I chose a medium pen customized in stub. The nibmeister of Appelboom has done a fabulous job: the pen is smooth and juicy and reveals beautiful line variations. A real pleasure to write with every day! One of my best fountain pens!

You can read so much praise of Aurora fountain pens, and as far as I'm concerned, it is all well earned. This pen is ideal for me. Not gigantic, it fits very well in my hand,. The cap does not back-weight the pen when posted. My EF nib wrote perfectly out of the box. The beauty of the finish may be a matter of taste but it suits me very well, a true violet purple with chatoyant highlights. This is my first Optima, and I'm not one for collecting multiple colors of the same pen, so it may remain my only one. I could write with this every day. Congratulations, Aurora, and thank you for your dedication to quality.
I really liked the fountain pen (nib M). Purple looks a little different from the picture, but it's gorgeous! The piston works great and the fountain pen writes softly with little feedback. Very happy with the purchase.
