With a JUSTUS fountain pen, you may adjust the 14 karats gold nib tension to be as hard or soft as you like. By twisting the adjuster, the adjust plate, also in 14 Karats gold, moves back and forward, allowing you to adjust the firmness of the nib to suit your writing style. JUSTUS may even permit to write in a decorative hand. JUSTUS is available in 2 different nib sizes: Fine and medium.

The Pilot Falcon Fountain pen uses a cartridge/converter (CON-70) filling system.

The first Pilot pens were launched in Japan in 1918. At this time, the country was opening up to Western influences and was importing European techniques. By listening to their customers, Pilot's research has enabled them to create new standards in terms of comfort and innovative products.

Great pen. A nice size that's on par with a MB 146 in terms of size. It's a step up to a basic black with its subtle pattern. The beautiful nib is what interested me at the beginning plus the ability to adjust the hardness and softness of the nib. Like all Pilot pens, it writes beautifully out of the box. There are some line variation when it's set to the softest. However if you're expecting the variation to the level of a flex nib or even Pilot's on FA nib, then this is not the pen for you. The change is miniscule when written but the user will feel it in the hand which is a great feature.

The Pilot Justus is impressive.
The nib is smooth and the size is just perfect.
Make sure you use a sheening or shading ink, you will not regret it.

De justus schrijft soepel, de fine nib is meer een extra fine of zelfs een needle point. Dat had ik niet verwacht. Voor sommigen fijn om mee te schrijven, maar iets te dun voor mijn handschrift. De schrijf ervaring is prettiger op wat ruwer papier.
De instelbare functie van firm naar soft voegt niet zo veel toe. Het is geen flex nib, dat is bekend, maar zelfs het verschil in bounce of het verschil inkt flow is niet noemenswaardig.
Neem de fine als je fan bent van hele dunne accurate lijnen of voor getallen ed. Of als je een fijn en klein handschrift hebt.
Kwaliteit van de pen is goed zoals je mag verwachten.

I like the looks of the Justus because the subtlety of the chasing on the cap and barrel give it the look of an earlier era while providing some textural feedback when holding the pen. The adjustable firmness of this nib is remarkable. Based on my initial trials, I will probably favor the softer setting over the firmer one. It seems to provide more wetness. Both settings (and all in between) offer a smooth writing experience.

I really love this pen. It feels very comfortable when writing. Maybe you cant see that much of a difference between the soft and the hard setting, but you defenetly can feel it, Thats amazing.

It's a really nice pen. Perhaps if I had chosen the medium nib I would have kept it, maybe I will give that a shot in the future. I exchanged it for a Pilot Custom 823 with a broad nib. If you enjoy a great, soft pen with very ample ink flow though, definitely give this one a shot.
