With the Montegrappa 24h Le Mans writing collection, Montegrappa honors the the centenary of motorsport’s greatest endurance race: an anniversary recognised by Legende naming and collection design references that point to its most iconic era. Montegrappa's 1-2-3 product line-up transports race fans back to the age of Steve McQueen’s 1971 movie, with classic racing liveries, custom componentry and period-correct circuit layout.

Since 1923, it has been the ultimate test of endurance, speed and innovation. Every year, hundreds of thousands of fans congregate at France’s legendary Circuit des 24 Heures to witness the 24 Hours of Le Mans. The obsession of millions is a romance that lasts 24 hours, but lives on forever in history.

Montegrappa celebrates a century of heart-stopping racing with three classic styles: each a throwback to a mythical era. In the sixties and seventies, racing legends raced wheel-to-wheel with screen idols in motorsport’s greatest spectacle. Are you ready to go the distance?

Three iconic, racing-stripe liveries are touchstones to a century of automotive excellence. From the race’s official emblem to the chequered flag, each is a marker of racing history.  Period-correct. Steel bodywork details the famous Le Mans circuit as it was in 1971. Speeds exceeding 400kph have been recorded on the original, 6km- long Mulsanne Straight.  Restyled for race fans. A custom, piston pocket-clip reveals pitlane provenance, designed to house our signature ruzzolino rolling clasp.

Built from stainless steel and resin 24h Le Mans Legende comprises slimline ballpoint, rollerball and fountain pen models in three iconic, racing-stripe liveries: blue, beige and sky. Each carries a 24h Le Mans button cap top, custom piston clip with ruzzolino, 3-colour decals, 1971 circuit barrel engraving, and a chequered-flag, cigar-stub blind cap. Fountain pens are cartridge-converter and are fitted with a 6mm steel filigree nib (EF, F, M, B, Stub 1.1, Stub 1.5).

Custom packaging for this design is suitably sporty, and comprises an oil can-styled metal travel tube with outer box, both rendered in full team colours.

Italy's first pen producer, Montegrappa, began manufacturing pens in 1912 in its factory in Bassano del Grappa in Italy. Utilizing natural celluloid and precious metals,Montegrappa combines traditional methods such as die-casting with more recent innovations as low-relief engraving to form their precious art objects. Whether Montegrappa use colors reminiscent of the master painters or ornamentation suggestive of Baroque palaces, the Italian heritage and romance is infused into each product.
